After work today to help work away all the stress, went for a 1 can walk down to leanyer drains. this has been a regular jaunt for me over the last month as it is the closest and easiest way for me to at least wet a line, plenty of water was still coming from the swamp and drain so I set myself up at a feeder drain and had a few cast as well as another beer, no real numbers caught, plenty of followers unfortunately (Just hate seeing the fish chase the lure all the way) while I have only ever caught 1 decent fish from this area it is all good fun, as I cannot see any fishing trips coming up in the future this also at least helps keep my casting accuracy. Line used is 5lb mono so that also keeps it a little challenging any way and Mud you would be happy to know that I have resorted to using a damn eggbeater for these trips

I guess that's another form of 'strolling' - land based style! Looks like you had a little bit of fun.
Out of interest, what breed of reel is that?; it looks mighty similar to my Shimano baitrunner, an aero 8010, except yours obviously isn't a baitrunner. Mine has a button release for the spool, and I'm thinking about trying to find a couple more spools so I can quickly change the setup. Is yours fairly new, and is it a similar spool release to mine? If so, where did you buy it, and did you buy extra spools as well?
Thanks in advance.

@ Trier: The reel is Shimano FX2000. I have one too, at least 8+ years. Shimano is still making them, you can get one for $20.
@ happy slave: Well done mate. Looks like you had some fun. I'd like to give Leanyer drain a go as well.
