G'day all Seen as though everyone else is starting to get into the culverts i thought i would post up a quick report of my trips so far.
Been hitting up the culverts along the arnhem fairly regularly. Mainly scotts as its closer. The first couple of trips in late december were promising with dozens of rats around but didnt have much luck hooking a legal.
Just before New years we ventured out to scotts again with a mate hooking into his first culvert bazz going 62cm (sorry about the poor quality pic)

The next day we were out there again and i managed a 61cm on light tackle...gave me a descent fight as it nearly went under the crossing

On New years eve we made our way out to the Bark hut, set up the room and went out for a culvert sesh.....headed to the south to be greeted by the usual crowd. We started flicking the upstream side as most of the people there were flicking downstream. It was slow going but the rats kept us entertained. Once the others moved off we started on the downstream side, a fair amount of casts into the small channel wielded nothing....not a touch. Then first cast dropped down by the side of the road and slow rolled along the bottom i felt a tap and the line went tight. Not a big fish but my first legal one from this particular culvert. Went 58 and pretty clean too.

After this one everything seemed to go quiet so we headed back along the arnhem and had a few flicks at some likely looking spots along the way, only coming up with a few rats at flying fox. Ended up having a top night at the Bark hut with a good feed and a few jacks along with some good entertainment.
Headed back there again after the big trough came through and there was plently of water.....and not much happening. Ended up dropping a nice fish that took a liking to a boof frog sped across the surface. Definitley got the heart pumping but that was it. Although a young bloke down there got a nice fat bazz in the mid 60's right up in around the trees. After a slow morning we headed to corrob for a feed and flicked the crossing there for a few little rats.

My recent trip was today were me and a mate headed out to have a look at the hopewell crossing and the darwin river crossing, a lot of people were at hopewell and no one seemed to have much luck, much the same at the darwin river culvert as well. They look the goods but i think ill stick to my Arnhem trips.

I've only fished culverts once and the only bites I got were migies, but after looking at your report I'll have to give it a go next time I'm down that way. Has any one tried the culverts out marraki near corrob?
Great report mate and there is nothing wrong with catching rats they are good fun!
