I haven't been but I was told that they were getting a few up at the flood plains a few days back. No monsters but fish up to 70

Heard the mudbar at ramp is causing a few issues launching? Need half tide or better? Anyone confirm?

Hi theodosius, was looking at fishing the south as well on Saturday but was worried about getting in and out with the big tides and that mud bar. Your 2pm retrieval last Sunday had Darwin low tide of 1.4m at 12:30pm, was the water running out when you pulled the boat out? Sorry, just trying to work out the differences etc and don't really wanna get stuck! Cheers in advance for any info. Shrek

5 hours later on neaps or 4.5 on springs is the rough calculation I work on. This time of year can be a bit later due to flood water holding it up a bit. Would have been about 3 hours after high tide at 2pm last week. Thanks for the info Theo.....

Should have no problems with mud bar i retrieved on the low no drama's.

Spoke to a local yesterday said it had all but washed away.

still be careful travelling though the mud bars are still an issue once you launch.

I went out on Saturday just gone, 4hrs in the water 14 Barra (biggest 64) 15 Tarpon, 42 trailers in the carpark when we pulled out. The sandbar is gone from the ramp and is on the upstream side of the bridge on the left, Its huge can almost see it at a high tide.

Nourlangie produced no fish, had to go further upstream. By the sounds of everyone else up there they were not catching much which put a smile on our face.

not to sure the sandbar would have been moved upstream barney.

for those heading down stream, be careful and keep a good eye on the sounder when you get to "round the world". it really is a trip around the world now!

went downstream at nearly low tide yesterday morning and yep the sandbars are fairly extreme. No drama's at the ramp though plenty of water 2 hours before low tide.
Struck out on the fish feel like needs more rain down there... heaps of bait though!

Thanks for all the help and advice guys, ended up going to the East (Just because I know the river a lot more).
Needs more rain out that way too, water levels should be a lot better this time of year.
Magela is Pumping a poop load of fresh water but up stream are a bit average.
Heaps of bait fish around and was hard to get them excited over what I was throwing at them, came home with a chrome 75cm and around 6 at the same size lost at the boat.
No rats which I found strange, usually have to carve through 20 of them a day to get to the bigger fish.

Was just under a metre through Magela and the S Bends, Not flowing at all. The cruiser loved it, gave it a nice wash going through there.
