Maria island lies about 20km out from the Towns River mouth and about 80km SW of Groote.

I am hoping to do a trip there in June.

Has anybody fished there or can give some advice on anything to look out for or suggest information that I should factor into a trip there.

Access will be from the Towns. Hoping to do some inshore reef work and target the flats when the tide suits.

I had an old mate that used to work at Ngukurr who did a trip out there every year. I remember seeing some photos he had, 1 in particular stood out, it was a 44kg mackerel. He is 6'2" and it dwarfed him. :bow:

By all accounts there is a heap of great fishing out there like that. He used to fish it in April /May before the winds really kicked in.

Sorry i don't have any spots for you, but thought i'd whet your appetite with a bit of info on what you may encounter... :applause:

Thanks Dan. Info is pretty hard to come by but I would expect to hear good things about it due to the remoteness.
