I may be venturing back to Limmen Bight in May. Does anyone have any up to date information? Its been 6 years since I was there! Is fuel/ice and bread still available?
Any info would be appreciated. I will be driving in from the Heartbreak Hotel side.
Hmm.....I wonder if the huge Barra that we couldn't stop is still there.......................

Hi Gammo42
Try ringing Bob on 0429723423 He still has a vested interest in the camp.
I have not heard anyone complain or confirm the condition of the back road. But I used to travel it all the time in lieu of going to Borroloola via bitumen, no matter what the official road repord stated.
Lorella Springs station is out there and uses the road 08 89759917 Nathan River Station Park Ranger HQ for Limmen is 08 897599940
Pretty sure Steve barret still runs the fishing camp there and he had fuel, ice and basic necesseties for sale out there when I fished there with my uncle 2 years ago. Has some good aircon donga set ups with ourdoor kitchen/fridge setup which is really handy after a hard day sinking gold cans and catching heaps of fish. Cant remember the contact number for him but shouldnt be too hard to find.

Roper Bar Crossing Last report - 25/04/12 - 0.2m - Fish being caught first light and dusk. Also the road to Tomato Island is VERY wet and boggy. No vehicles have come through from Borroloola.
