Will there be an early build-up and early Wet this year?

and its 10am and it's still raining

i went for a fish early today and the water temp was 28/29 degC last week it was 24/25 degC so it wouldn't surprise me if the wet did start early.

Im erring to the way its going to be a cracking wet and early build up. And given work has me tied up for march/april thats pretty much as good a bet as any :shock:

Had 1/2 an inch in palmy today.

just enough rain to tease then back to build up conditions for the next 5 months! enough to drive more then a few of us over the edge and some to think that maybe Tassie might be a nice place to live...

Jock Rash, Senior Bullsh!tologist from the Bureau of Meteorolgy today said:

"We are definately looking at the possibility of an early Wet season. There are indicators it could also be a late start however we haven't ruled out the chance of it kicking off at the normal time. Early modelling suggests a wetter than normal season is on the cards, this prediction however is tempered by some schools of thought that a drier than normal Wet is a distinct possibility. There are also some potential scenarios indicating we will have to settle for an average rainfall.

As for the chance of a cyclone, there is a distinct remote potential possibility that one or more may or may not form earlier or later in the season.

Right now it's sunny.
