If you had to tie on just one hardbody lure size for barra, what would it be?

big lures catch big fish, small lures catch all fish. If there was only one lure allowed it would be a small lure since I mainly fish for food not trophy fish. not to say that I dont like hooking big barra as i have caught plenty of big bazza's on the 3" riedy lucifers and rubbers.

Yep, agree with Bears statement; small lures catch all fish.

I like big hard body lures. Probably because for any thing smaller I will use a rubber tail. A 50cm barra will eat a 7 inch bomber no worries at all.

Yep, gotta go with small..even finicky fish will take a swipe at them..Predatory instinct to feed on the smaller fry,as pointed out in Dean's post on 'Strolling'. graham

My go to lures are normally junior bombers or xrap xr10's

But I'm saying that when I put big lures on sich as the classic 160 and big ass b52's etc I catch fish from 40cm and up. I was trolling a judge in gold up the Adelaide and got hot
By a barra. Was so small though it didn't hook up. We dragged the little fella about 4klm LoL. Reckon it would have went 30cm at best and hooked right in the gob so he Definately tried to eat it.

In my honest opinion. The best lure is what best matches the Bait around. Of there is big mullet getting hit use a big lure. If they are feeding
On little rainbow fish and small mullet prawns etc use a small lure.

I personaly like to use the mid size lures ,as a lot of people have stated above,i reckon they give you that greater chance of a hit or a hookup.

Definitely small lures for the harbour, and something that dives shallow, but golden rule is to match the hatch.

Dunno about barra, but, hardbodies of any colour generally get eaten at some time. :lipsrsealed:

midsize for me, biggest Barra is still on a 4"

match the hatch as they say and finicky fish will still swipe a small bait, lollypop!

caught barra smaller than the lure as well

um, big lures still catch small fish. I voted for 125 but i think 120 classics are the best all round lure.

Can't go past the Morry Knee Bone lures, Australian made and have a beautiful tight little wiggle. Around the 9 cm size
