Apart from by-catch there is no way that removing tons of fish from ocean is sustainable wether it's. Within the quota or not.

I doubt that the Sea Shepherd would have the balls to pull their cr.p on Australia's doorstep while in the AFZ. Especially on something that is sanctioned by the Australian government

Guys
The problem isnt the quota or even the super trawler for that matter. The problem is that the Commonwealths fishery management arrangements in the Small Pelagic Fishery allow the entire quota to be taken in one place and at one time. Our counterparts in Tassie, Recfish Australia and the new Australian Recreational Fishing Foundation are all working to get the management rules sorted before the boat arrives. I know anysupport on that front will be welcom.
Regards
Chris

To be honest. i dont agree with trawling anywhere for any species. but demand has to be met. being sustainable to these people has a completely different meaning. how many countries have been fished out even when they said it would be sustainable. the problem is most of them have been why the hell do ou think they are coming here to do it. we have one of the last "sustained" oceans in the world. now these guys wanna take it away

The southern tuna fishing has been back to levels not seen for decades, which flows on to the economy in all forms retail, food, accomodation fuel etc etc, so what shall we do not protect it let the super trawler come in and tear holes in the food trail. Lets find out how sustainable it is when there is nothing left. Sorry if offends but P**s it off

Yeah I wondered about that. Maybe they intended to vote no but hit the wrong button. Otherwise, i wonder what the thinking behind it was or if it was just a poop stir
