Hey everyone I'm getting a gary Howard north fork 4-10lb spin rod which I'm going to use for chasing light tackle records I've narrowed the reel selection down to three reels the Stradic ci4, sustain or rarenium all In a 2000 size, but I'm having trouble deciding. If you can help me narrow it down it will be much appreciated.

Hi Balou, how many reels is too many???, and not a good idea to put them in your stable; horses sh1tting and p1ssing on them is not good for the anodizing.

You can never have too many reels! Some are addicted to drugs other are addicted to the booze. I'm addicted to buying rods and reels.......Sometime I thinks it's cheaper to be addicted to drugs

Daiwa luvias or the Stradic fj. Your better off spending a bit more for quality

The only shimano i run is a stella 5k which i got cheap and its great! Saying that i couldnt recomend any of the the above reels. Now im a tackle whore and i know reels inside out bein a fitter and doin my own service! Ive noticed daiwa inst pushed as much up here compared to southern states. Yes its a bit more exe but when we talkin quality u cant go past jdm daiwa gear the tolerance's, materials and design is better! They are a more simple rubust reel. I know a few online shops in oz are clearing out high end gear fairly cheap. If ur chasing records i would suggest nothing less then a luvias or fuego but would prob go a certate! The exist is goin for 600$ at rayannes which is cheap concidering they go for 1000$ normally. Do yourself a favour and jump on some southern forums n see for urself what ppl think! Anyway thats me rant time for more bundy

I had a play with a mates brand new stradic FJ on the weekend (2500). light, well balanced and felt solid. I have heard that the Ci4's graphite body is lighter but can flex a bit, although I've never picked one up so happy to be proven wrong.

yep if you got the money to spend. go the stella
nothing comes close to the stellas.
given you live in gove i would be getting the saltwater version that starts at 5000 or 4000 size reel i think.
you will be able to catch the big gts, sailfish and reef rape all with the one setup.
i lived there for 20 + years. (1982 - 2004) (best fishing in the world - marlin, sailfish, all the big pelagics - reefs galore) if i ever went back
this is the reel i would buy.
