I put a split ring in the eye of the hook and a decent sized treble ontop of the head of the plastic that is atactched to the split ring only really do that when I'm big fish fishing with decent size plastics Mud idea would get snagged a poop load in timber and on the bottom I reckon but maybe a better hook up rate being further back !!

There are heaps of ways of doing it, I mostly do it the same way doug does it (thanks to chris), but the other way I do it, is to cut a slit in the back of the plastic and put a hawaiian clip onto the shaft of the hook with your treble at the bottom. That way it doesn't affect the way the plastic swims but still has a hook underneath were the barra strikes, I wouldn't use that and cast into snaggy areas but fishing run off and casting into colour change would be fine.
