I would like to say no but...... Haven't done it since being in the nt but did it one day while fishing for redfin back in vic on a plastic standing yabbie. The prob was a 2lb reddie got all the way to the boat then swan off as I produced the net!!! Took the hook guard off after that they work far better without it on there!!!!!!

yep done it on purpose catching GT's and Queenies when they were going off, just to see if i could land one with them just hanging on, nearly got a couple in the boat, but eventally they realised it wasn't worth eating and let go, good fun though. Must admit i have just grabbed one out of the box before and thrown it in and couldn't work out why i wasn't hooking up till the little feller suggested i take the plastic off the hook, good for a laugh

Yep, swim ck last year. Between barra and snags we were tying on every few casts. Couple of hits with no hook ups had me looking. Funny thing was, the boys all gave me some stick, but they eventually did it too.. Calamity...

Did it at the Daly last year. Had four hits for no result and was scratching my head. The two other lads were calling me a bullshitter because they hadnt had a hit yet. Eventually worked out the gaurd was still on and next cast once removed I hooked up. Needless to say the other boys were soon tying on the same rubber as I was using. We ended up with 20 fish after that.

Hahahaha yep done it twice now. First time we were getting smashed every cast but no hook ups. Was at tortilla flats. Then we realized Hahahaha we were both doing it. Tonkich excitement after seeing them hitting stuf on the surface when we got there.
Did it again at the south the other day. Felt it snag then come off and thought hold on a second that should have snagged up. Check and had a laugh. Then removed it and kept fishing.
