The esky didn't look much like an esky anymore either
The past is history, the future is mystery, the moment is a gift and that's why it's called the present

I did the bleach thing with an old blue esky about four years ago. It still stinks ... might try filling it with horse poo for two weeks, create something unique.

lol on vanilla flavoured squid.nomad wrote: spray some vanilla fridge spray over the entire internal surface
leave closed for a few days
then open to the refreshing odour of vanilla flavoured squid
but yah olfart got the best scientific formula. bicarb of soda. a teaspoon per liter will do, and fill the esky with
the mix, soaked it for at least 24 hours but make sure no meat residue beforehand.
if you want to go hi tech, soak it in beer homebrew desanitizers. alkalines , stop smells of acidic origins.
my 25 year old ESKY ( at least ) from a lawn sale years ago still smells like ok, except the plastic odour.
under the sun it comes out. prawns, squid and fish guts good for fertilizers dried up in it for days.
cant smell them

1 week of Phenyl
1Week Bi Carb
1Week of vanilla
But the biggest problem is that if it has a drain plug it gets loose and the fish water gets into the inner insulation
Its gone ,,,buy a New one

Vanilla works well
Went on holidays for 4weeks, daughter thought she would do the right thing and turn the power off to the computers to save power.
Unfortunately, chest freezer was turned off at same time, Christmas time, oysters, squid bait, fish, prawns you name it!!
Neighbour gaffa taped it up when he checked the house for me a week later to stop the smell getting out. Then turned it back on!
When home I cleaned it all out and washed it out on the back lawn, scrubbed it then vanilla sprayed a few times and left to dry
It is now my ice freezer, no problems, no smell!

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!
