dual cab conversion

Talk about the gear you can't afford and knots you can't tie.

dual cab conversion

Post by john d »

Looking at converting my old 80 series into a dual cab.
Is there anyone in Darwin who has or could do this type of job.
I Like my old cruiser but need a ute.
Looked at cruiser utes but they wont fit under my carpport.
Not keen on a hilux as i like the big 6 diesel for towing my boat
Any sugestions

dual cab conversion

Mate I did a SWB GQ into a style side ute guess it depends on what sort of finish you are after a flat back is not really that hard to do if you want to use the back of your wagon as the back of your dual cab then that's a fair bit more work. My advice would be do a bit of research there is a lot of 4WD forums that have pics of cars that have been done be it 80 series or GQ. Good luck with the conversion they look good cut up.

cruiser or patrol conversions look great, don't know what your price is over there but here, for a full conversion with extended tray, your looking at 15K to 18K, might even be a bit more now
for the shorter tray about 10K to 15K
gives you a rough idea

Something else to think of is make sure you put your application in to MVR for approval easy to do and getting the car signed off is a lot easier here than any where else in aus. Just don't touch your seat belt mounts that starts to make life very hard
