The RAAF Darwin Fishing Club (RDFC) meets at RAAF Base Darwin on every Wednesday nights starting at around 6 p.m. The club house and boat sheds are down past medical, turn left at 114MCRU and keep going till the end of the road, where you see the boats and club rooms on the right.

Membership is open for all defence members, there spouses, defence civilians and even members of the general public.

Members of the general public without a base access pass can apply to become an honorary member or they can be signed in by a defence member each time.

The club has two hire 4M hire boats for members, that are maintained in top working order, the hire rates are the cheapest that I know of in Darwin.

There are regular BBQ's, raffles, members draws and a host of guest speakers will be presenting through out the year.

Membership is quite reasonable, from memory it is $25 for a individual and $35 for a family.

There a monthly fishing competitions with great prizes.

The AGM was held today and a new committee has been established for 2009.

So please come on down and say hello, the bar is open and its cheap as chips for a beer.

What's the go with boat storage space for members down at the club these days?

I'm not an expert on this one, but I think committee members/contributing members get priority. The yards were pretty full last time I looked. Best to come down and ask the pres.

thanks for that, was in a ansa club down south and thought that a defence one up here was ansa as well
