Interesting that the brand & unit that I was looking at hasn't been mentioned. Was looking at Lowrance units today & the number that go back to factory, given the number sold, is incredibly low apparently. I did discuss what I'd been told yesterday. This fellow had heard that the product had been recalled/withdrawn from here and in many cases a complete cash refund on the sounder from the manufacturer.

So which unit Smed? was it the other model you were looking at? If so was it the higher end unit or the lower end unit?
