Gold or platinum navionics card most dealers sell them, used mine the other day for the first time on the hds7 and was impressed
Platinum gives you google map overlay I think

navionics Gold in mine, much better than my old C-Map, which admittedly was around 10 years old...
I think the HDS will take Platinum but somebody told me Platinum was a waste of time unless you lived on the east coast...

I went for the gold as well as works fine as it is, but I have been told the google map overlay can be handy, also couldn't believe how much area the card gives you data for, it's almost all the way from Japan to New Zealand and a long way off the east coast, even noticed it shows you marker beacons as I launched from buff creek and went over to king, coming back after dark wasn't a issue as I could see the markers on the screen, s...ts all over my old northstar and c-map setup

That's my thought jabsy I have an couple year old nav gold from my old elite 5 wich was ok for it but a lot more info for East Coast but the standard base map is just a waste an inaccurate so guess will have to get somthing looking like navionics again but is it really worth going platinum is the question? Or is there alternatives for region specific ?

Navionics Platnium - for the Google earth over lay - shows all the small creeks and gutters- even gives you a idea where channels are in places like shoal bay

Gold or Platinum is the way to go. But you won't get much for the rivers, just the surveyed areas of the mouths (in some instances this goes inland a bit) but be wary of them as sometimes you can be traveling over land.
The only solution I know of for rivers is to make your own maps which is can be a pretty involved task.

RoadTech marine had stock a couple of weeks ago, and you see 2nd hand golds come up on ebay regularly for 175-200. No free 12 months worth of updates tho, but how many of them would be for NT anyhow?
