LEGAL CRAB POT SIZE

Post by shaggs »

Can someone give me the legal dimensions of a crab pot as the DPI site says a pot around 700x600x250 should be adequate but no official size

The past is history, the future is mystery, the moment is a gift and that's why it's called the present

I thought it would be easy but I had to check 4 different dept websites and got this

A pot must not be greater than one metre in either length or
diameter or have a capacity of more than half a cubic metre
(0.5 m3
).

hope it helps shaggs

Nah, Nomad is right. From the NT fisheries site

Maximum size: 100 cm in length, width, height or diameter. Maximum volume: 0.5 m3. Maximum number of entrances: 2 Material placed in the pot which is likely to entangle fish or aquatic life is not permitted.
