Some friends and I are heading to the Daly next week for a couple of days. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.
Of interest if anybody has some good bait tips for catching cherabin I would be most interested?
Are there any mud crabs down there worth putting a pot in for?
Is it worth a night fish or mainly early morning late afternoon??
Finally any tips on tides, they are pretty big for the three days with at least 5metres of movement, so is it best on run in or run out?
I know it is late in the season and I may get flogged for saying this but after three years up here, the Daly is somewhere I always meant to go to and just never got there. Well this time a couple of mates three boats and a few coldies should be the recipe for a great couple of days. If we throw in a couple of barra that would be even better.

see my post under scottys question of the same nature. I have had all my best success catching cherabin using velvet soap as bait.
Hang them on a treble either on the bottom or under a float.
Its a really great place to be - any creek that runs into the main river is worth throwing a lure at and the FF book spots are all worth a look at.
Have a great trip - as i said its a really great place for a visit and a quiet beer or 7.

Cherabin seem to be best along any weedy banks!!!!!!!
