I was in USA not long ago. Every seafood buffet had mountains and mountains of these king crabs. The yanks love them with butter sauce. Simply delicious!
Dont know how any of them make any money as it all you can eat for $9.95 and it all nice seafood like crab, lobster, oyseters, shrimps and clamps.
Everytime you go to these joint you simply load up to busting point.

Sorry Tran but we were over there for 8 weeks last year and tried seafood every time we could, (I mean EVERYTIME) even incuding SF fishermans whalf an found it to be universally repulsive and ineadible. I have a photo of a pallet of cans of cambells new england chowder being decanted at SF fishers whalf diners early one morning. They have no idea, ther oysters are just disgusting tried NY , washinton, SF Oyster joint (sold nothing else) just left em on the plate and walked out, they have never been to coffin bay thats for sure. Pikes place markets even, at seattle was a let down seafood quality wise, their heads would spin if they went to Rick Morgans at Scarbouragh Seafoods, absolutly spin.

AM, I was in LA and lucky for me my sister has been over there for the last 10 years. She married a Vietnamese/yank so we kind of had local knowledge. The asian joints we found were really good for seafood.
There was a place in Little Siagon LA which had some really good oysters. They had a container in the midlle of the resturant which was full of oysters and you pick which one you want. They have a team imports openning up all the oysters. Apprently they sell out everyday and get new batch in daily. They were 50c each and were about size of my hand. Polished off 3 dozen over 6-7 buds. Still not as good as the fresh SA oysters.
I did find alot of the oysters in vagas area a bit metalic tasteing.

I can yell you that each of the varieties we tried in San Franciscos fishermans whalf precinct, the stink of the area, and the cr.p they boiled up their crab to order in was simply putrid. The funny part was the place was bursting with locals or at least americans most eateries along there had lists you put your names on to get in after a wait of up to an hour and then product was absolute rubbish and not cheap either.
