Got this cray off the dundee jew reef a while back. it got caught up while chewing on a lump of squid. nice bonus for the day 8-)

nice one harmsey. when i was living at bathurst island one of the locals caught a big cray off the floating pontoon at the bottom of the strait, it to was caught on a lump of squid on a hook!!! :mrgreen:

we spent alot of time day and night searching the rocks/pools around forcroy looking for them to no avail :-(

got some nice oysters tho 8-)

I once caught two in on day and lost another one, on squid while fishing for jews at Pococks. 8-)

Def not vegetarians. Know blokes that keep them in tanks and feed them occy. And occy love to eat crays so im sure the feelings mutual. :grin:

Cool Harmsey....I got 1 off there years ago on squid...same arvo I got a 65cm goldie there :-?

no jewies but :bonk:

The last one I got was at the mouth of leaders creek on a live jewie (8-10cm long)... vego's my :moon:

The olive cray likes meat, the painted cray less so as I understand it. They both look fairly similar - and both of them are found up here apparently.

Not as tasty as mud crabs according to some. But that's like comparing apples with oranges.

not enough there to go around, i know i wouldnt be sharing the only cray :grin:

i'd much prefer muddies than crays that's my opinion, always look forward going down to bunbury to visit my crazy uncle bruce whos a absolute nutter when it comes to fishing guarented crays on the dinner table when we arrive :grin:
