The winner of the 2010 Reel Women Barra Classic held at Dundee Beach in May this year, is taking on the Victorians this weekend at the 2010 Humminbird Bream Classic Series Grand Final.
The event is on the Glenelg River in Nelson, Victoria.
Young gun Brittney Burton, 16, will fish with her teammate mum Charmaine Burton who was a part of her Reel Women's team 'Three Generations', which also included her Aunt and Nanna.
The Territory girls will be competing against some of Australia’s best bream anglers, with a total of 50 teams.
Victorian Tournament Director Bill Hartshorne said: “This is a first for the event to have an all women’s fishing team and to be honest, the 49 all male teams are a little unsure of what to expect but all encouraging of the wild card entry from the Top End.”
Brittany is pictured here with her biggest barra at 91cm, caught during the Reel Women event this year.
"With many big barra under her belt, one would think that catching a 2kg bream a walk in park," Rel Women spokeswoman Emma Cartwright said.
"Brittney said fishing with 1kg line might be the big challenge when she normally uses 15kg braid.”
The ladies are in the running to win over $30,000 worth of cash and prizes.
