Thinking about entering the Mataranka Barra bash...

Has anyone fished this comp before, or is anyone else going to fish it this year????

I think its just the Ropar or any of the waterways running off it, but I've never fished it and rying to get some info about it

Mataranka Homestead Barra Bash has been running now for approximately 10 years and is on again this year from 30th September to 2nd October.

The Mataranka Homestead will be offering free camping to all entrants of the Barra Bash. We have live entertainment every night along with our restaurant and bar facilities. Also we will have a pig on the spit on one of the nights.

We have the major prize with a total value of $8,000 in cash and prizes for the biggest fish, 2nd and 3rd prize, lady’s prize, children’s prize a mystery weight fish prize and a spot prize each night.

Entry costs are $40 Senior - $15 Junior - $60 Family

Hey Guns'n Roses and Bommy where will you be fishing for the comp? I am fishing the comp to but haven't decided where to go yet as i have never fished the roper before. There will hopefully be a couple of boats coming with me as well. Does anyone have any hot tips for the roper?

im a virgin on the river too :s we were going to head out to the bar for the fri and sat, then try the fresh on the sun, thought doing a comp might be a good way to learn a new river!!!!
