This comp originally had the NT News in the pics but as has been stated before this comp was all ment to be a bit of fun and for as some did attempt catch a barra a month for the year.
Like some said they dont buy the paper and personaly 50% of the time I buy it I leave it in the car at the ramp.

As for the date on the camera pics what if someone forgets their camera they can still use their mobile to capture the fish for the post but will not have a date.

If anyone is going to cheat in this comp then hopefully Karma will perform justice.

The mouth closed when measured rule has always been in place I thought but may have not been mentioned since the start of the comp last year?

The post in the monthly challange was to mention were caught, the method lure/bait used and link to the write up on the forum.

The lures as prizes were to keep it as a simple affordable entry fee and prizes that didn't require a chasing up donations or people being out of pocket.

I am all for better prizes but would like to see the comp keep the same relaxed format that it has previously, which has been a credit to the people organising it and doing other things like posting the scorecard or opening the monthly posts.

In saying all this whoever puts there hand up to organise the comp should get the support of the people who enter it.
If anyone is not happy with somthing they should talk to the organisers about their grievances and if not happy with the response do not continue in the comp and you have only lost a couple of lures.

Were lookin to stop that rule. As you say billstar if you cheat then hopefull you get karma knockin on the door. So that should keep all happy. Have a loom at the rules posted now and let me know what you think. We are trying to keep it simple for all involved. As for the mouth closed bill the pics in this thread are not closed fully and makes the measurements a little off. Could be the difference at the end of the day.

I would like to see you get a barra to keep its mouth completly closed while it is gasping for air while you are messing around getting photos. I think that if people are honest enough to take a photo without a date on it they are honest to tell you a measurement that is taken while the fish has its mouth closed and only use the photo as a reference and proof of it being in the area of said measurement. :mrgreen:

Closed To the best of your ability ok. I am sure you can wok it out mate. I have in the past close the mouth and hold it up against the block or stopper. Most of the time you got a mate there with ya anyway so tell him to help out. Please let's not get petty about it. With in reason will be exceptable and take two pics anyway which is not a silly idea anyway in case the first does not work/turn out.

60cm from the Darwin Harbour East Arm on Sun 30 Jan. I foolishly did not take a photo of it on the Brag Mat - don't know why :cry:

My lads and I spent the day upstream on the Adelaide River and we didn'teven raise a scale but we did enjoy a beer and a couple of softies with Khai at Goat Island. He mentioned that the water was lapping at the doorstep of the bar last Monday.

Hope that CPT is still working for you guys.

Thanks for the replies guys, I don't think you can beat the Harbour Barra for chewing on the Barra front.

Watchout running those live cabs around Howard River Park tree tops. We ended up with a crossbow bolt in the backyard not that long back, got no idea where it come from, lucky it never hit anyone on the ground or in the air!

Hey Doors Off, it does not matter that it was not on a brag mat as the comp does not start til Feb this year mate. There is another thread with new rules somewhere. :mrgreen:
