December Barra Challenge 2010 : Competitions

Thought Id get the ball rolling with a 76cm Daly River barra caught at the Crossing last week and report in NT Barra section. Got it on a Squidgy Slick Rig in white. Pretty happy to finish the year strongly and especially with 2 landbased fish.

Its been fun to be in the comp even though I had some tough times fishing the dry this year. See you at the ski club drinks.

looks like I'm gunna close out the year with this little sucker..might have one more chance to put the boat in between chrissy and new year but not lookin promising at the moment.
caught this fish last weekend out past the daly on another trip in the chopper

went 58cm caught on a bomber. Cant post up too much as it is some of heli fish's secret spots. We landed 11 fish for the day biggest going 87cm.

All good seano..all the spots we fished are boatable just would be a big trip..im sure the last thing the big payin customers would want is sharin the spot with a boat, spoils the isolated/remote feel of it :mrgreen:

well folks no december barra for me. sort of... steaming out of harbour gone for 4 weeks. landed a few fish, including a 55/60cm jobbie at daly crossing the other day however didnt take a foto or even measure it, wasnt gonna carry my rat back to boat for a measure and foto in front of 15 people :rofl:

so i miss out. would have been a leagl fish a month for 3 years. a fitting end...

nailed this 60cm swampy in the Ord at the start of the month. No that big but pretty rapt to achieve my goal of a barra a month. Was hard goin at stages but was a good challenge. Thanks to everyone who was involved who made it a good fun comp and cheers to Lee for organising everything and copping the unwarranted flak!

Picked up a nice little upgrade a week ago down the Daly again. This one snuck in at 83cm.

cheers Youve been pushin me all year! must have come down to the wire. Wonder what the final tally was?

I found my Jan barra and dec barra the hardest to get. Dropped a good fish at Manton a few weeks ago but have been down south for the last few weeks so have had no chance of an upgade.

What day are we going to have the pss up? should we have it start of Feb when everyone is around?
