SECRET WOMEN’S BUSINESS CHALLENGE - Not so Secret

More than 100 women in 30 teams will compete in this year’s Secret Women’s Business (SWB) Fishing Challenge being held on Corroboree Billabong October 18-19.

As Challenge organizer Melissa Krollig explained: “This is the third year the event has been held and we have been overwhelmed by the interest from female anglers who want to be part of it.

“We had a full field back in July and, unfortunately, we had to knock back a number of women who really wanted to take part because we need to keep the event to 30 teams so as not to overcrowd Corroboree and put the fish off.

“It’s a bit of a surprise that so many want to compete as the competition is strictly women only and, other than some of the heavy work launching and retrieving boats, no male assistance is allowed.

“I think it goes to show that recreational fishing in the Top End is now very much an activity for everyone â€â€
