Was down at the Nationals for a day taking foters - the Classic boys were fishing No Fish Creek.
Fishing overall was slow, mostly small fish just over legal size. Turn of the tide was the best time, as is usual.
Boat numbers on the river were much lower than the ANZAC weekend (obviously) and even with the Nationals teams on the water there was no shortage of places to fish.
The few big fish caught seemed to be showing up anywhere.
Clear Creek looked best for big fish but was quiet when I was there.
That Dorat Road is a bottler after a couple of Red Bulls at 5am with no boat trailer and when no one else is around - my Nissan Patrol handles better than I thought

WHAT......Classic Boys fishing No Fish! With hard bodies or rubbers?
I thought that would have been the case with fish sizes, lots of rats with the odd good sized one thrown in.
Clear Creek is outside the boundary for the Barra Classic, cut off is Moon Billabong outlet, which is a pity cause the area immediately downstream is a top place for trolling up horses when the water clears up.
I’m thinking the bigger tides between now and the Classic will bring the bigger fish a bit further up the river.

With the amount of cherabin pots in the water I doubt they'll be coming up for a feed Blinky, hope the tides do the trick.
