Groote Eylandt Billfish Bonanza Results : Comp Calendar & Results

Held last weekend, 10 boats and nine catching fish for a total of 54 billfish tagged, nine marlin and 45 sailfish over two days, with marlin averaging 10kg - 50kg and sailfish from 15kg - 45kg.

The final results were as follows:
1 Slab and Release with 4 Marlin and 8 Sailfish
2 Little Chief with 11 Sailfish.
3 No More Favours 10 Sailfish.
4 Aquaholic with 1 marlin and 6 Sailfish.
5 Club Liquid 1 Marlin and 4 Sailfish.
6 Delerious 2 Marlin and 1 Sailfish.
7 Yellowfin with 4 Sailfish.
8 Leggysea 1 Marlin.
9 Yell at Me Yell at You 1 Sailfish.

Apparently 280+ billfish have been caught this year around Groote Eylandt, with more than 200 in the past eight weeks.
