2008 BLUE WATER CLASSIC

The Darwin Trailer Boat ClubÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Blue Water Classic will take place over the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October 2008 with cash and heaps of great prizes on offer including a chance to win the $1000 cash Lucky Door prize.

The Darwin Trailer boat Club organises this event to encourage recreational fishing around Darwin and surrounding areas for the whole family, This year marks the 5th annual running of the event which is open to the general public and caters for both senior and junior anglers. The Blue Water Classic is not exclusively for large boat owners.

This year there will be three divisions. Division one; boats over 6m, Division 2; boats between 5m to 6m. Division Three; boats under 5m.

Boundaries are set and you can fish anywhere between the Vernon Islands in the East, the Peron Islands in the West and Cape Fourcroy to the North. The Blue Water Classic is a release and weigh in event for designated species.

The competition is from 6am on Saturday 25 October and ends with lines in at 6pm on Sunday 26 October 2008. Weigh in will be at the Trailer Boat Club on Sunday 26 October between 3pm and 8pm.

All the popular categories will remain including champion menÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s, ladies and teams in all divisions, champion Junior and sailfish anglers, as well as some secret weights.

There will be a limit of 200 competitors to this event.
