Good FB picture report on the Klash here from the winner ... https://www.facebook.com/shane.compain. ... en-section
From Tackle World's Coolalinga's Pat Tait this morning, who fished with Team Rapala, which placed eighth ...
"For anyone going out to the South Alligator now, fish above Nourlangie Creek, that's where most of the fish were caught.
"It only needs a couple of big storms out there to keep it going.
"The mullet should come up on the bigger tides.
"Brooke Creek had lots of salmon in it and lots of bait, but the better fishing was up top.
"The river did not have a lot of floodwater, although there was still a fair bit running down up top.
"The run of mullet that comes up the river weren't there in the usual numbers, maybe because the event was held on smaller tides this year.
"It surprised me how many fish were actually caught on those small tides.
"But saying that, there were more opportunities at more locations because of the smaller tides, we weren't restricted to the usual windows.
"I think the South Alligator River fishes better on bigger tides.
"Smaller lures worked better, smaller soft plastics, we did a lot of casting.
"Shane Compain's Team Tackle World took out first place."
