« Tue May 23, 2017 4:51 pm »   not the classic yet ellajonic- prob be released very shortly the EOI for the classic have been released if your keen can email you a copy
« Tue May 23, 2017 3:56 pm »   Have any dates been announced for the Nats and Classic next year ???
« Tue May 23, 2017 3:28 pm »   maxpower, just had a chat with Nigel from the BOM and he has indicated that there is a problem with the Daly River Police Station Indicator. The reading has been stuck at river height 2.38mtres /over the crossing at 0.88 mtres for since the last set of springs. I can confirm that the river was fluctuating back then as i was going to flick the crossing but the indicator said that the rivewr was at 1.06 mtres above the crossing. I am constantly looking at this site in the wet and can confirm that when the river gets to approx 2.0mtres, the Police Station Indicator will dissappearand Beeboom will be the last indicator shown on the list. Apparently the hose that recieves the water from the river is blocked and is reading the last known level.
« Tue May 23, 2017 12:42 pm »   Cheers Melv...heading out there this week..will keep you's up dated
« Tue May 23, 2017 8:46 am »   FF - we were there a couple of weeks ago, nearly at dry season level. A trickle running through the dip, no runoff at 3 ways, was sytill a couple of small ones upstream but reckon they've stopped by now. Didn't get up to Walkers Ford so not sure how it's running through there.
« Mon May 22, 2017 8:14 pm »   not sure how to put a link, qlq fisheries fb page,$17,000 fine for female and undersize crabs
« Mon May 22, 2017 6:01 pm »   Hi guys can anyone tell me what the water levels are like at Finniss Fresh?
« Mon May 22, 2017 5:52 pm »   I wonder what they will do about the silt build up,probably have to clear it each season
« Mon May 22, 2017 5:06 pm »   Only this about the ramp build https://dipl.nt.gov.au/infrastructure/p ... mp-upgrade
« Sun May 21, 2017 10:29 pm »   Any shady reports from the weekend??
« Sun May 21, 2017 9:39 pm »   Good to see so many Barra in our local billabongs, caught easy 50+ rats all around 40, and 2 chromie keepers, all caught casting in run off drains, also good to see quite a bit of run off hanging around, just spent hundreds getting my boat fixed and I don't even need it haha
« Sun May 21, 2017 9:05 pm »   Anyone got the marks of where Warpath sunk.? Pm.if so.
« Sun May 21, 2017 6:35 pm »   Is that low tide on a 1metre neap tide or an 8mtr spring tide?? Either way they should be no where near a mud flat, yet they still net them.
« Sun May 21, 2017 6:04 pm »   Yep. And 3NM from the low water mark at the mouth of the Finniss takes them WELL past the end of the flats by at least 1.5NM
« Sun May 21, 2017 5:34 pm »   3nm from low tide mark. did see one at anson bay this year :(
« Sun May 21, 2017 3:05 pm »   It needs to be BLACK N WHITE, too much GREY. NO ENTRY of a commercial boat into FOGG,ANSON,BYNOE,DARWIN,CHAMBERS AND FINKE BAYS. Thats how it should be, of course they will net the rivers as the temptation/rewards are too great.
« Sun May 21, 2017 2:52 pm »   Information directly from NT Gov fisheries web site
« Sun May 21, 2017 2:44 pm »   The lines are likely on the Fisheries website, probably on here somewhere too, doesn't mean all netters will obey them, there were reports earlier this year of nets outside the Finniss that may have been inside the zone
« Sun May 21, 2017 2:05 pm »   I dont think its that black n white swoffs otherwise they would not be allowed net the flats. As Matt says they are most likely the same fish population
« Sun May 21, 2017 11:22 am »   Barramundi commercial fishing licence shows that Commercial barramundi fishing is not permitted in the following areas:•between the Little Finniss River and the Wildman River, including Bynoe Harbour, Darwin Harbour and Shoal Bay
« Sun May 21, 2017 10:51 am »   stock on the flats is likely same stock that goes in and out the river
« Sun May 21, 2017 10:17 am »   Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thanks for that Matt. That seems so Hypocritical 'protecting' barra stocks pppffffffttttt.
« Sun May 21, 2017 9:44 am »   they can legally net the flats outside the river beyond the net boundary - it is also possible that illegal netters hit it at night
« Sun May 21, 2017 8:39 am »   Gday MATT FLYNN.In todays paper you have written that the finniss river had been hit by the netter, is that legal?? I thought it was closed to netting???
« Sun May 21, 2017 7:06 am »   Any shady reports ????
« Sat May 20, 2017 11:14 pm »   first push in at buff. I like the 5.6mtr neaps early morning high say 9am right of the ramp fish the back eddies on far side on incoming, 6 inch nilsie james bond or big ass reidys green. my best 92cm
« Sat May 20, 2017 11:12 pm »   fishcatcher you need bigger tides mate
« Sat May 20, 2017 7:31 pm »   there's a decent lagoon forming just downstream from the ramp, might be ok fishing the mouth of it as it drains out
« Sat May 20, 2017 6:02 pm »   just upstream of the ramp is a rockbar. but they get barra off the beach above the ramp. night fishing off the ramp works when it is quiet but beware crocodiles
« Sat May 20, 2017 5:42 pm »   Rockbar*
« Sat May 20, 2017 5:41 pm »   Ok thanks guys, where at buff creek, near the rock at infront of the ramp??
« Sat May 20, 2017 5:23 pm »   head to Buff Creek if you can, better spot ...
« Sat May 20, 2017 4:29 pm »   As REX HUNT would say " Its no good being where the fish aint".
« Sat May 20, 2017 4:09 pm »   went out to sandfly creek today, caught nothing, used shallow diving lures, mullet, prawn imitation lures and popper and squidgies... what's the go??
« Fri May 19, 2017 9:42 pm »   Cool buddy
« Fri May 19, 2017 9:33 pm »   thats whats happing now champ. 0.88m above the old crossing must be when it stops recording. Ive spoken with the guys at the bom about this a few years ago.
« Fri May 19, 2017 8:24 pm »   Granny, micketts is copping a flogging ATM... I'd be heading elsewhere, seems plenty about.
« Fri May 19, 2017 7:57 pm »   Manpower, if the river drops to its normal level, the police station reader will disappear buddy
« Fri May 19, 2017 6:59 pm »   Can anyone tell me if meckit creek is worth give a go for crabs or should I just push on to the golden mile
« Fri May 19, 2017 4:29 pm »   once it gets down to that level it doesnt record anyomore below that. Will record again once it rises later in the year.
« Fri May 19, 2017 4:29 pm »   been like that for a few years now wazdog.
« Fri May 19, 2017 3:03 pm »   it normally fluctuates a bit, but nothing for 4 days

« Thu May 18, 2017 8:30 am »   Thanks andy
« Wed May 17, 2017 11:56 pm »   Blue salmon love a dead mullet. Catch good numbers behind the first bend after the bridge at Rapid Creek using 4-5 inch dead mullet on running sinker. Mostly on the dead of low tide at night. Neaps are best with lows from 2.1 to highs of 5.9.
« Wed May 17, 2017 8:40 pm »   thanks matt
« Wed May 17, 2017 12:55 pm »   blue salmon will take just about any bait, used to get them on the first push in at Buff Ck, Sandfly probably the same once there is enough water from the tide
« Wed May 17, 2017 11:46 am »   Thanks Andy grey
« Wed May 17, 2017 11:09 am »   What are some good ways of catching salmon??, I'm heading out to sandfly ck on the weekend and apparently there are heaps of salmon... cheers hudson

« Tue May 16, 2017 9:00 pm »   thanks Luke, i might try to catch some cat food
« Tue May 16, 2017 8:13 pm »   you can drive down from in-front of the lee point resort entrance, look for coastal walk sign. Then short walk, depends on what side you want to be on. It fishes better on outgoing tides at night with no wind, no moon, poppers work well retrieved slowly. Take the thermocell.
« Tue May 16, 2017 8:12 pm »   Sure is nomad had some sashimi the other week
« Tue May 16, 2017 5:58 pm »   I want to get out to sandfly creek, what's would be the best way of getting there?? Cheers hudson

« Tue May 16, 2017 3:06 pm »   Hi All, Does anyone know if water is still comming over the barrage at shady and how much tidal influence is required to launch?
