« Sun May 19, 2013 5:23 pm »   Interesting story theodosius. I was taken to a cave on the Wessels in the early 80's by some old people living there and was shown some old paintings depicting very early sailing ships. We didn't venture far in as it had a lot of old human remains and was off limits. There was also a anti aircraft gun emplacement nearby from ww2 and a heap of live ammo that we kept clear of.

« Fri May 17, 2013 3:04 pm »   Finniss fresh at Hardcastle is still open
« Fri May 17, 2013 1:49 pm »   Surely if you can't fish the fresh, there would be a sign at the ramp? Otherwise plead ignorance! Fuggem!
« Fri May 17, 2013 1:36 pm »   Skippy, I'm not sure that the situation was every finally clarified, when the Minister was interviewed on TFTT, the situation with the fresh was left up in the air. I think the situation would still be governed by this map http://www.fishing.nt.gov.au/maps/media ... -large.gif parts of the river not bounded by purple could not be restricted
« Fri May 17, 2013 12:23 pm »   Tales from the Tinny spoke to the minister and said the finnis fresh (billabong, non tidal) was still good to go. They should have a link on the ABC website.
« Fri May 17, 2013 12:14 pm »   Right. Might have to check. I thought they said on tales of the tinny that the exclusion didn't cover finnis fresh.
« Fri May 17, 2013 11:21 am »   It's closed unless you're a TO of the area, from what I understand

« Fri May 17, 2013 4:45 am »   ive been involved with suntag, have caught and tagged a large amount of barra, and the caught to realised ratio of any fish would be 95%-5% 95 being let go, if thhe boys want a feed and shout me a good day out then they can take my mtr fish, i would have loved to watch it swim away though.
