Well, the T-Top is finally home for paint and fit-out. I just thought I would post some photos to show the tube work and Teaser Reel/Outrigger setup. As you can see the teasers are run from the centre ring on the outriggers and the 8 inch Pancake Teaser Reel is actually a planer board reel from Big Jon’s in the US. They are modified to flat mount in the roof of the T-Top. If anyone is considering this type of setup the Big Jon’s Planer reels are by far the most cost effective way of doing this. I landed them in australia for $125 Each whereas a purpose built manual teaser reel costs between $500-$1000. Big money when you need a pair of them, not so important if your boat is worth $250k or more but too much for your average trailer boat. The only modification I made to the reels was to tap an alternative mounting point for the guide ring but that was me being picky as usual they would work fine just as they are. Alternatively if you had a couple of big star drag level winds laying around you could use them with a little creative mounting. The only addition to the setup I would like to see is a clicker mechanism on the teaser reels and I am working on this at the moment, I will post any mods I manage to come up with.
