Building The New T-Top

Well it has taken me a while but the new T-Top is finally ready for paint, The main pipe work is 32mm x 3 tube with 40mm x 3 uprights sliding into 50mm x 3 tubes recessed into the new console.  The work has been slow and painful at times, just little things like the fact that you can’t buy 50mm long Stainless Steel retaining pins so I had to fabricate my own.  By the way do you know how hard Stainless is?  The box will house the stereo and VHF Radio as well as the wiring and switches for the Navigation and Cockpit lighting.  The three main things I wanted to achieve with the T-Top were to regain full walk-around ability, to have a fixing point for my riggers to be able to run the Pancake teaser reel setup I have been trialing and last but not least to get some good shade without using a bloody Bimini which in my opinion has no place on a sportfishing boat.  Maybe I can stop wearing huge hats now…. Anyway here are some photos I will post some more when the paint is on.
