Just wondering the different types of lures (hard or soft) that people have had the most success on to catch threadies. My personal favourite are the gulp prawns in a green and white shad.

If you go to shady at the right time your hard pressed not to catch threadies. Best lure I found for them was rapalas xraps. The reidys judge lure worked well on them also.

Nilsie spear head in the fluro yellow colour on the flats when there is cloudy water. Lure looks like a baby threadie in colour and barra and big salmon love them. Other wise any small plastic or hard body that can be jigged the cr.p out of.

Hey mate,
Depends on where it is for me, but overall have done well with Gold Bombers (surprise surprise) and X-Raps retrieved really slowly. If thats not doing it you can also basically whip your rod tip when the Bomber is on the top so it makes a little splash then leave it for a bit, turn the handle once then repeat. Found small softies around the flats pretty good too, same again, a really slow retrieve, but flick the cr*p out of it.
As said above, at certain times out at Shady it is hard not to get them when trolling for barra.
