Heading down there Friday myself with Nomad and the fiance.
Bit of rain has fallen in the catchments now and a bit more will through the week which might see some action happen there upstream.
I'm just talking like a professional, i have never actually fished the river itself in my whole 22 years in the territory Have watched my dad go flying out of the boat at a spot called "around the world" in the river itself though

Went out with a couple of work lads last monday for an overnighter. Water was too dirty. Plenty of boofing but no hookups except for one rat about the same size as the gold bomber. Got onto a decent jewie (didn't measure but was easily 110cm) and a few salmon... Saw a few excellent lightning shows out there overnight but no rain...

Yeah JQ you gotta be very careful going down river mate as its not like a normal river sand bars are where you think they shouldnt be, the round the world spot is a nightmare at times, best advise is go down at high tide or the incoming coz if you get stuck on the out going your stuck all day till it comes back in.

Haha something like that... Incase no one has tested the theory, boats when they hit sand banks or mud bars don't just launch into the air like a James Bond movie and land in the water on the other side of the obstruction... They pretty much stop dead

Yeah Wally, i was 9 at the time, the old man's boss was driving (He knows the river well ) I was laying on the floor of the boat and another work mate of thiers was on board also. We went from 70km an hour to zilch and literally the old man flew over me laying over the floor into the river and so did his work companion. I got banged up against the console and the skipper was mangled over the transom but still in the boat.
