Gold bombers dont like the sun! : Barramundi & Tropical Estuary Fishing

Anyone else found this? I left my tackle bag in the boat under the boat cover for a week and when i opened up the bomber tray the goldies had some serious head droop goin on. Then on my last trip out i left a tray out in the sun for the same result. 4 gold bombers down! :banghead:

Is it just the gold bombers? I haven't experienced this, but have shrunk my crocs when I left them in the car. Maybe they are made of a similar material?

have had all types of lures deform when left in the sun/heat.
happens often if you leave the taclke box left exposed in the sun.

Pulled a big bent mad mullet (unused) from a tackle tray the other day- not impressed!

Hard bodies are made by heat injection and welded untrasonically so i suppose the same heat will bugger 'em up

got a few that look like they've had a biiiiig feed..swelled up...probably due to the gasses trapped inside. Lot of rubbers stuck together after I left the tray in the car all day. :banghead:

try this googz put a thermometer under your boat cover in the mid day sun,I did it and the temp hit 52,nothin is gonna like that much heat :evil:

A few years ago a mate left a can of spray paint on the cc after doin some touch work on the boat put the cover back on,pulled the boat out next w/end to go fishin ,,,disarster the can had exploded right next to his new sounder(stuffed) not to mention the new paint job inside the boat :bricks:

makes you think about what you leave in the boat,,,,,sounders ,epirb, flares,pressure pak bug spray, etc

Last year was prteey hot down this way over Xmas, mate was @ Burrinjuck trollin along in his little tinnie, he had the top of his tackle box open ..

He just got a coldie out of the Esky when the Bic lighter in his box exploded !!!....it launched a heap of lures across the inside of the boat n one hooked into his leg !!

Gold bombers just don't like ME! Having a flick last week and had one try to snag itself in the mangroves on the other side of the creek TWICE. Managed to get across the other side and get it back both times, only to get home and not find it amongst my gear - I think it ran away just after I took it off the rod in the car park.

All my gold bombers seem to have an affinity for mangroves.
