Don't know if I have posted this before or not. A few too many beers since it happened. But I was looking through some old upics and had a chuckle to myself when I thought about it. Once upon a time at the barra nats ...... Deckie #2 :emwas a trifle disgruntled after 4 days on the water with no fish. Our non stop pi ss taking didn't do his sense of humour any favours either. Well by this stage he had stopped speaking to us which was fine by me. We get back to the banyan farm and #2 decides he has had a gutfull and is going home. We try to persuade him to stay (thinking all the while fcuk off). Nup, he's going. I leave him to it and head for a shower, hoping he will be gone when I return.
On the way back I notice old mate up to something in the back of his dual cab. He spies me and scuttles off hoping I haven't seen anything. While he is gone I have a gander under the tarp in his truck (poop box nissan). There he has hidden our last 4 cartons of beer supplied by our sponsor. Nice one matey, but not today. Deckie #1 and I remove all the beer and put the tarp back. Old mate comes back, grabs the rest of his kit and we bid him farewell. Imagine his smug grin on the trip back to Darwin. 'I got those bas tards' he'd be thinking. Imagine that same grin fading when he discovers ...... Nothing! Oh yeah, we kept HIS esky too, had to keep the beers cold. I have told this yarn a million times but I love it.

Should have given him some contact counselling for trying to steal the beer. Bet he was invited to many more trips after that!!!

Nah, wasn't me! Same trip tough. Funny story to go with that too. #2 deckie had just fcuked up netting a fish for #1 who was understandably peeved off. I'm going 'settle down, don't do anything stupid' #1 goes 'what like this'd and chicks his rod over his shoulder into the drink. I just keep on trolling.

gold,
i had two mates up from vic that played a practical joke on me while out fishing. when they were leaving they put the mudcrabs they had caught into an esky to take home on the plane.
while they weren't watching i took the crabs out and replaced them with small rocks haha. They took them all the way back to Vic. Def had the last laugh!

I understand Bushie..
I had one but after his last trip ,....where he first broke my favourite Rod & then denied ever touching it ......that was the last straw.
Seems when I reminded him that in 5 trips he managed to , 1/ Broke my fav Samaki Rod est @ $200 2/ Drove boat on trailer so fast & rough he managed to smash the guide rail off trailer $90 to fix. 3/ Let back door of Pajero swing open & hit front of boat on ramp....5 minutes after telling him to be careful & hang onto it !! $200 to fix. 4/ Brought" his" (unneeded) spare seat on trip, left in back of Pajero uncovered & seat pole damaged interior trim $197
This from a guy who insists that you cant touch his gear because we dont respect & look after HIS gear !!!...seems he is just the opposite with everyone elses.....
Im too soft......UNTIL....he told a couple of mates that he never touched my rod.......that was the final straw..
Needless to say after a very serious discussion about these items & asking for at least Rod to be replaced , ... and he had one in his shed, (one he had been given free ! & didnt like or use) he was left off invitation list for next trip when he sends text asking " another Exclusive fishin trip I'm not invited on,...I must be bad..."
He got a long email outining what damage hes caused & has still not apologised, or offered to fix or replace, & until at least some offer was forthcoming....he was no longer welcome........ .cause I couldnt afford to have him in the boat !!!
And he reckons he was victimised...still no offer to pay for any damage....and he wanted me to help him photograph his catalogue for a magazine !!! ...Fkuc Off !!
At least I now go fishin with blokes who know how to behave..ard arent tight arrses & sooks !
Any wonder I got high blood pressure...
