costal creeks at night : NT Barra

most people like the fish the coastal creeks in champers bay on the morning high and you see many photos of big barra caught at this time of the day but has anyone had much luck fishing the high that is just on or just after dark at the creek mouths, like marsh, swim, love, carmore etc?

Is it less productive or just less popular?

ps. I have got heaps of barra at nite in other locations, of course (just like everyone else) - just doesn't appear that the nite high is as popular on coastal creeks?

Still get good fish at night. Not as many as the morning tide in my veiw but that last 45mins of light usually provides one or two crackers.

Had quite a few cracking sessions at night, usually to 70cm, never caught any big girls at night though....

I am thinking more of big slappers - I struggle to recall even 1 photo of a big Barra from a coastal creek caught at nite?

Can often catch few slappers late at night or early in the morning, not necessarily in a creek! :kiss:

I have seen the photo's of those meteries on a night session. From memory, I think they caught 4 fish over the meter and two were in the high teens. It was in one of those creeks mentioned above.

Ive caught some om barra at night in the creeks at kab..no world records but some nice fish

Most on live bait...but these days at nigjt time i prefer to be back at camp drinking bourbon and talking poop

I have often wondered about the mouth of Sanpan at night, its so productive during the day surely they are still around at night.

I reckon a slow trolled blue salmon hooked through the nose would be deadly at the mouth at night. Someone got to try it! thats if you are allowed to livebait at the mouth.

caught my biggest barra at night in coastal creeks around shady at night
the horses move in with the tide same as during the day
however as doug says the mossies can be thick and the storms can make it less than ideal
