The problem is (like anything) that they have probably been doing it for years without a problem. Then one error of judgement and its all over. RIP

Don't know about "doing it for years without a problem " - more like doing it forever without being reported upon by the increasingly
shrill media (as with most things in remote indigenous communities). There was a time (not all that long ago) when most events in
these locations were largely 'veiled' from us 'in town' folk (as it should have been) - you know , the what happens in the community
stays in the community philosophy.
I constantly read newspaper articles these days with glaring bold headlines, only to get 3 paragraphs in and realise the article is about
an occurrence that happened remotely - it is written up as if it occurred in a local Darwin suburb - the 2 different situations are poles apart
in reality, and should be reported (or not !!) as such.
