That's unfortunate, he was quite engaged with this forum.

He is a very good operator.
He is going to be advisor to the fisheries minister, which is a fine evolution of his career for both himself and NT fishos, good things should come of it.

A good man and I'm sure he'll stay in touch or at least keep an eye on what we have to wing about.

I think there is a certain tour guide that has vented an epic smack down of Tristan, and his agenda, that is worth consideration.

thanks Tristan
Now just imagine if we knew someone who has the ear of the fishing minister. Oh wait, we now do!

There has been a critic go off on political lines, someone who is closely aligned to the CLP, so I wouldn't give it any weight.
The critic in question may have been inspired by Donald Trump's success and wants to go into politics
As everyone knows, the CLP did themselves in, they didn't need outside help.
I've been reporting on NT rec fishing through several AFANT executive officers and can say Tristan did a great job. He is perfectly placed to continue kicking goals as an adviser for the Fisheries Minister.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll still continue to be an active member of this forum and if you see me out fishing please say hello.
It should be an exciting role working for the Minister and I am looking forward to helping the Government kick some goals.

Re: Tristan Sloan quits AFANT
Gday Tristan
Good news re the new job
You would realise that the big wheels turn slowly and govt wheels turn even slower
I realise that every dept has to fight each other for funding of things that are their No 1 priority so lets see how we can get a secure compound up and running.
There were plans for one at Palmerston ages ago but that has stalled.
I don’t know how things work in the NT govt but the sooner we get the ball rolling the better.
My understanding is that the Buff ck compound will be closing in the future.
The crime rate isn’t going to get better around the traps (its not just youth wandering around the place either) so we need to start things asap for a secure compound
Darwin is a major fishing town (and I realise its really just a town in the big scheme of things) where it seems that every man and his dog goes fishing.
The FFF poll re an additional ramp has a few replies but we are only going to get bigger.
and so how do we get things moving to get a new ramp up and running?
I also feel we need a secure compound where we can be assured that our vehicle/trailer is in the same condition as we left it.
Do we each need to inundate the minister with requests or will your people start it moving?
