Tristan Sloan quits AFANT

Talk about bungled boat ramps, net buybacks, marine no-go zones, mining disasters etc here.

Good luck Tristan!

Let's make cancelling the Shady Camp ramp number one on the agenda. Unless it is built downstream of the first island, it will be a huge waste of time and money. As you are probably aware, the creek is silting up more and more each year. But it only seems to be the dedicated fishos that seem to be aware of this fact. The ramp needs to be downstream, even if it means delaying it for a year or two, to obtain more funding.

It's these sorts of issues that will hopefully be brought to the beaurocrats attention, now we have a genuine voice in government.

A bloke studying Shady Camp has said the main channel will ultimately not be the one where the boat ramp is. There is a vid of him on YouTube. I'll dig the link up tomorrow, internet connection is wonky atm.

Great mind think alike scottmac. AFANT proposed cancelling the current plans for the Shady Camp ramp at the most recent recreational fishing advisory committee meeting and allocating funding for a downstream alternative location.
