Port Melville Submission- Department of the Environment

Talk about bungled boat ramps, net buybacks, marine no-go zones, mining disasters etc here.

I am fully on board with what Tristan and Nomad has to say on the topic above. I also believe in organisations like AFANT. Who else will stand up for the average fisho ? Who on this forum attends all of the meetings stands up and has there say ? Be it right or wrong. Not many, I be thinking.

There is plenty that can be done if the govt was fair dinkum.
There was a nsw developer who cleared a heap of land, built an entire sub division incl roads, kerb and gutter etc etc without approval. The L&E court made him return the land back to its original status including replanting trees to the same size and type. Cost him mega bucks – but he didn’t get a prison term.
That sent a real message to the cowboys who thought they would just cop a fine.
The current govt here would probably give the Tiwi bloke a grant and a pat on the back.
