gotta agree but landcruisers are just way too heavy..... trying passing through a bog in one of them landcruiers like somone sinking in quicksand and having a hilux to pull ya out. example like the time we were cruising through the tracks at jabiru and pulled 2 landcruisers out the same bog. jeez landcruiser people!!!!!!!

Hi TT, get yourself something like one of Shepps modified Suzy's. IF you can manage to bog it, two blokes could practically lift it out without all the recovery cr.p that you would need for a Landcruiser! Plus, you wouldn't need to worry about the duco or dinging the panels on a $60k++ vehicle.
Might struggle to tow a decent size boat though......

also not to mention the price of them brand new $66,000 without the tray or air con or diff locks or paint
as you have already pointed out. hilux are a poor mans landcruiser.
but for a bush basher - neither.
old short wheel base landy (landrover not cruiser) put that sucker in low range 4wd and not much will stop it. will be able to creep over most obsticales.

Comparing a hilux to a cruiser is like comparing a beer to a midori. you know what to choose

Id say a old shorty MQ patrol, but seeing as though you asked about toyotas i would say a shorty cruiser diesel with 33inc BFG muddies then you wont have much that will stop you.

I own a cruser ute but only use it for towing and understand that it isn't suited for real 4WD work. Plus every body knows that Suzukis never get bogged, the only photos of bogged suzukis are fake photoshopped pics.
This thing is awesome and I have used it for heaps of long range bush trips with no major issues, was even able to drive from bulman To the cadel straight between Australia and Elcho island with one rear spring shackle snapped off the chassis.

Neither, cruiser 200 series is a highway tourer (and a very good one) remainder of the cruisers are designed for farmers and miners. Hilux is for farmers that can't afford a cruiser. For bush bashing you need a Suzi (like the one sheps has), Landrover 90 (if you have plenty of backup and a good chiropractor) or a jeep wrangler (if you have shares in Caltex)

Sheps SUZI is a beast, though if you spent the time he's spent modding and tuning on a landcruiser or hilux, they're all in the same league. Look back at the old "mustering"(original bush bashing) photos from yesteryear bet there's a few cruisers in there
