This is me and my girlfriend right between Derby and Broome, about 120 from either town, 15km from the Hwy. Black sand hiding under that water. Spent all afternoon trying to dig and pack and drive it out without luck. Slept on the tray as the water continued 100m in each direction. No repellent and we were hit with truck loads of mozzies before the tent got up
Walked the 15km out to the Hwy in the morning and a 65 year old woman in a 80's model Patrol drove in with me, we bogged her car half way there and recovered it with some old pillows as grip mats and then snatched mine out and she got rebogged on the way back and we snatched her out.
Good result, not the most pleasant weekend away, but a good story in the end

I'm claiming the water as my reason for no pants, haha.

This ws when I lived in Weipa, went for a spin to a land based fishing hole by my self with no recovery gear, got a few barra but spent 6 hours waiting until my Mrs noticed me missing and sent help in the form of a Landrover.
This cruiser had ARB lockers front and rear, but were not engaged when I hit the mud too quick and popped out of the ruts and got crossed up, the lockers didnt help once I was already stuck.

Thanks boys, loved the pics and also the shoulder shrug when you had to walk 500 kms to get phone reception. Still ,some even managed a game of footy later in the day. GREAT stuff

Got stuck in deep mud twice in the last two months, the last time you could not even stand in it without sinking down. Got out with one set of MaxxTrax, worth their weight in gold. Make sure you get the bright orange ones though, as even though they are orange they are still hard to find after a recovery.
